Namecheap.com stole my domain

I was about to purchase a domain from yesterday. It was availble and today also it was available, after I have add funds to my account and when I pay for it.It says domain not available, and then when I search for it, it says domain name taken. Its very unlikely that someone else will register the domain in that same 1 minute when I'm about to purchase.I'm sure namecheap stole my domain.

WTF, I alredy build the site for it.

Did you check the domain name whois elsewhere? Someone could have captured your whois search and registered your domain ahead of you. Domain tasting is no longer allowed so I really doubt that it is namecheap.

I've heard the same thing happen before with this registrar. They seem to track what domain names people search for - it gives them ideas they didn't know about and then they snap the domain for themselves. I'm surprised people still use them.

Refer to Rule #1: Don't search for a name unless you're prepared to pay right that minute!

Millions of people are registering domains every minute. It is quite possible someone registered it the same time you went to purchase it.

Same thing happened to me. I searched and found webhostingreviews.ws I went back an hour later after a Ebay sale went through and somebody had registered it. I settled for WebHostingReviews1.com I was really pissed.

Who wouldn't do this if they were in the registrar business? i.e. domain.com gets 40 searches a day, surely it has a higher re-sell value and you're going to make more money buying & reselling in a bidwar than just selling it for the lousy 8.41 and making a couple of bucks.

Have you ever heard of the saying "You snooze, you lose"? And can you show
    how NameCheap indeed stole it?

It's one thing to opine someone stole something you never owned, it's another
to state it as a baseless accusation.
