Why would you buy a traffic when you already know you will just waste your money?

Buying traffic is a waste of money and time and no legit business do that...

Buying traffic is looked down upon in so many web communities now a day, just learn the proper methods of marketing and build your own network starting from the bottom and going up.

I would avoid advertising in in any traffic company. Most likely they will scam you. Depending on your website niche try to contact the website owners with the same niche and advertise throw them.

Have you ever heard of Askmen? Bullzeye? iVillage? And, of course, blogs like JohnChow?

They all bought traffic. "Advertising," in another word.

Advertising works. You just need to know how to do it, and who to go with.

Only dumbass noobs who do signatures and other such useless "methods" say it is a waste of time and money.

But you do realize that you can do the same thing they can do, right?

Oh, yeah, let's not forget this board and sitepoint. They also started out in advertising.

Only the inexperienced and or lazy who do signatures and other such useless "methods" say it is a waste of time and money.

But you do know that you can basically do the same thing, right?

Advertising and buying traffic are not the same thing.
'Buying traffic' generally means buying a number - generally a very large number - of hits, which at best is done by means such as pop-unders, but often is bots or just hammering at your server. That's a very different thing from advertising - promoting your site in a way to entice people to come at have a look.

I agree, even joining a manual surf site would be better than purchasing it. Don't get me wrong I do not recommend that either as it will give you very low conversions and you would be wasting your time.

The only thing I can say...is that Yahoo takes into account your websites traffic, in order to position you high or low on the SERPs. But they also take into consideration content and backlinks also. But they are the only search engine I know that is actually seeing of people are visiting your site or not, and ranking websites with higher traffic higher on the search results.

So if your trying to do the Yahoo, thing it might work. Just don't get carried away and spend a bunch of money. Join a few manual surf exchanges and that will probably get you a few hundred extra hits to your site each day. And you will see what I mean about "low conversions" before you go out and waste your mullah.

    You'll learn!:)

In all my years of working online I've never found 1 place I could buy traffic from that was "real".

Save your money, because no such place is out there.

I recommend investing your money into things like PPC, Solo Ads, and other types of advertising.

The only companies that I've found to be helpful where link building one which helped get my site ranked higher for keywords in Google.

I totally agree with you... There is another member in SP who is selling traffic and keep on arguing with me about the legitimacy of his business.

    There are legitimate PPC companies.

Forget PTC (paid to click). Forget these sites selling bulk traffic. And forget the threads here selling traffic.

If you had a really good source of cheap traffic, would you really be telling the world?

Yes I know... but even if it is cheaper, I still can't afford... need to wait for couple of months more to get everything figured out.

None of them are legit. The closest you can come is ppc advertising.

    *chuckles and rolls eyes* Typical.

Fireworking, when or if you decide to go with such a service, ask for a list of sites that have already done business with them. Then send these webmasters an e-mail asking how they liked it.

In addition, use compete.com to see, ROUGHLY, how much traffic a particular traffic company gets (along with the sites that have used their service).

It's not accurate, of course, but it can still give you a pretty good idea on what they are doing. If they aren't doing that much in traffic, they, obviously, are not worth it.

Keep in mind that the big sites of today used and still uses such companies.

How do you think they get so much traffic in the first place?

Sorry, but that was funny. Typical, again, but funny this time.

This is why I don't worry about the competition. :)
