let me just say, i love the browser, if they had the pr display i would change from firefox right now...
the future of PR and the initial release of the google chrome browser are totally independent of each other, IMHO. i kinda hate the google toolbar and prefer to use other addons for firefox which are less obtrusive. i'm hoping for a future beta version with a tiny PR footprint in the browser. this post is being made with google chrome, btw, with no animals harmed in the process.
I don't think so.. Chrome still in its beta stage, so, google might release toolbar for it once its final release comes out.
Pagerank has nothing to do with a browser and YES it plays a role in the SERPS. Where ever you are all reading that it doesn't they are wrong. It says it on Google and on their Patent. What else proof do you need?
Pagerank is not an browser thing... this is only a visual indicator and no real time ranking. Eventually they come up with a very smooth PR bar/indicator/text in Chrome. Just wait and see for the 1.0 release. In time more than enough add-ons will be created because of the opensource framework for Chrome. Rwin Internet Browser Chrome
From what I have read the Browser is limited as of right now, but that doesn't mean all the Google goodies are not soon to follow. They are just getting it out there, so as to spread the word. Why in the world would Google not eventually, and pretty quickly, implement their toolbar, along with the Page Rank indicator. Of course they will, just takes some time. Although i just changed to Firefox myself and I am loving it : )
Yes it does, but the fact is that your PR is everchanging, what is displayed on your toolbar is not the current pagerank of your site. The thing is I have had PR2 sites outrank and out-traffic PR4-5 sites of the same niche.
Man, get a clue...Chrome uses the WebKit rendering engine, the same engine as Safari. You don't have to code for another browser. As for your claims that it is a resource hog, I;ve found the opposite. It uses less resources than Firefox.
I'm sure they will sharpen the browser time to time, with also the toolbar. In fact, it might just kill Alexa, since much more people use the G toolbar than the Alexa toolbar.
It may be, but how can Google's development team opted out an important toolbar product, even if its BETA release ?
The launch of the browser Chrome, does not necessarily mean the end of google pagerank. They have just launched the browser and I am quite sure that within the next version or so they will support google toolbar (may be inbuilt) and a whole lot of other things.
Of course its not going to drop PR, its one of google's big marketers. Chrome is still in beta, they'll add support soon no doubt
Be sure that there will be, but not for the purpose of PageRank but for the purpose of functions like Gmail, Autolink, Send To, Autofill, Marker, News, Bookmarks etc. The toolbar is NOT only used for PageRank remember? lol. PageRank will always stay regardless of the inception of Chrome and like I said, in my opinion, PageRank just got better and more accurate my good friend.
Pagerank is destroying natural search to a medium degree because webmasters actively try to influence it on their sites by paying for links. No pagerank - no paid links? ok, paid links are never going away with or without pagerank, I know. Pagerank seems to play an ever diminishing role in the serps, I wonder if it will be left off new browsers. If it is maybe Google figured out that if they stop telling us what they rank our sites we will stop trying to artificially be like the jones'es?
