Hi, I have a quick proxy question.
If I plan to set up 10 proxies, how much bandwidth/space will this take on my hosting?
Where are good places for proxy hosting? I want Cheap! :p
Any places which sell cheap domains on unverified paypal?
Should I go .info or .com?
    Thanks!

The crystal ball would like to know how many users a day you will get and what script you plan to use are you going to allow the use of youtube or other porn video sites perhaps allow hotlinking?

Everyones bandwidth is different here so for one person 50 users could use 5gb other person could have 5k users and use 5gb. Too many variables to give a semi accurate guess

Oh OK, well, to be honest I'm new to this whole thing, so I really don't know what script I am going to have or whatever, my friend is helping me out with all the technical stuff.

I'll probably not allow streaming sites if it takes up a lot of bandwidth then, how do I stop users from accessing these sites?

Also, where shall I register domains? I have an unverified Paypal, and have been using name.com in the past?

I personally allow youtube as its a good amount of traffic yes its a bandwidth killer but I got enough to spare.

I would take a moment and read up on zelune, phproxy, glype, acio, cgi and see which one will work for your needs out the box. Look and see how easy it is to gets mods for it, is it still supported is the good user base that can help with.
Now this post is a wealth of information however most of those scripts how a support site that can help. For the most part this thread is great from and advertising and money making view.

I know it sucks not getting a straight forward answer but there isnt one. You need to learn the business to make money in it and be good at it.

OK, thanks for trying, +rep for your time :D

While we're on the subject, are there any good advertising techniques? I've identified a few but wondered if there were any I had missed?

email them etc - The only way i got valueclickmedia, which is hard to get an application through, is to email them and give them all you information and make it sound like a complaint, they just usually flick a switch and you up and running

OK, you can give some reasons?
Because they pay more or because it is less annoying etc?

I use adbrite (decent pay out) adtoll (good if you get advertisers) and also Global Interactive (best paying one I have found)

I say sample them and see what works for you and different ad formats i use the 728x90 2 in the header one in the footer. Other swear by side by side 468x60 so experiment to see what works

i have adversal on mine, i can share the following rates are currently on my account

    Country CPM
    US $0.82
    UK $0.82
    CA $0.78
    FR, DE, IT $0.44
    All Others $0.20

CPM inpage/fullpage adds for me with them

adbrite "was" a *much* better earner for me until i got banned (full page ads mostly also)

Also from memory adbrite offered better control over the amount of ads users saw, eg x per x hours was it?
adversal just seems to offer x per 30mins (30min is static figure)

I would rather a user saw X per day with X mins between them, adversal just pushes them out after each page load it WILL drive away users!
