floorpaint.co.uk is more relevant to the content that you would eventually put on your website, thus randomstuff should be parked and you should focus on floorpaint.co.uk to promote ..

just dont exceed on 3 combination. Select a domain containing your major keywords. Good domain name has an impact but still, lots of factors are concern.

I am not sure how important the domain name is for Serps but it is definitely important for your visitors. A name directly connected with the content makes a good impression on the visitors and is easier to remember.

Domain name has close to zero influence for SERPs by my (poor) experience. But for a searcher it is just fine, when they can easilly remember your site. I get mad, when I never can't remember urls of any seo tool, they are usually so twisted, lol.

It is the domain country extension, which may be really important. You probably want to sell paints in your country, right? So...

Wow.. think this a bit overrated.. Domain names do play an important role in SEO especially in the early part of the online venture. However, it is the link popularity and relevancy of the site that contributes to its ranking eventually.

There are a few domain name suggestion tools around e.g
    http://domain-suggestions.domaintools.com/
    http://www.nametumbler.com/

just put in your keyword and they'll throw out suggestions.

Actually - it's rubbish to say it has zero influence- for a not-very-competitive keyword it can be enough to get to the first position. However, whilst having your keyword in your domain is a help, you can do without - having something that users remember is also important.

If you want to rank highly for the search term "Floor Paint" then register floorpaint.co.uk, it will carry more weight with the search engines.

"Floor Paint" gets around 3000 searches a day in Google!

By using the keywords in your domain name you'll get links with the anchor text set as your keywords. This will really boost you in the SERPs. So go for floorpaint.co.uk because it will be easier to rank for your keywords.

    Exactly.

Secondly Google has algorithms to help brand name searches appear higher.

For instance a search for "Walmart" will bring up walmart.com

Although walmart has a lot of links, it does not need a great deal to rank first for the search term "walmart" because Google assumes the searcher is looking for the branded site and automatically gives walmart.com a boost.

You can get the same effect by buying a domain name that exactly matches your desired search term. So that when someone types "floor paint" google has to work out whether someone is looking for a variety of floor paint sites or the floorpaint.co.uk branded site.

Hopefully Google will determine that searchers are looking for the branded site and boost your floorpaint.co.uk site.

Having the keywords in the domain help, but you're not putting yourself at too much of a disadvantage by not having them. Something short and brandable is probably more important for a business.

floorpaint.co.uk would be fit for your business...that's much relevant and easy to remember even...Ranking on search engines depend on site structure (should be search engine friendly) and relevant BackLinks..

    So, best of luck.

Choosing a domain name that has your keyword it it will be of great help. But more that, you will have to ensure that the domain name is easy to remember and can be associated with the products/services that you will offer. This would assist you in building a good brand recognition and equity.
