Google is the best search engine around by far. I understand why others don't adopt a similar approach. To me Yahoo seems slow, clogged up with spam and outdated.

Also Google provide good search results for some query by using multiple sources of data. :)

The speed of indexing pages depends on the site. For example, pages from DP get indexed and appear in Search results with in 2-3 minutes.
I think yahoo is also good at indexing pages.

I agree, it depends on the website. It's definitely the fastest though. Especially for blog posts.

IS it just me, or is there a reason why none of my websites get many links from MSN or Yahoo, but lots from Google?

Yahoo used to be the king of getting things indexed quickly, but recently I have been noticing search results in Google that are minutes to hours old. That makes a huge difference when you are looking for something like the latest review of a new Intel processor or something of that ilk.
