Because they need to speak efficiently. For example, "Please come to MY HOME tonight, baby." They hate to say that in this way, "Please come to SOMEONE'S HOME THAT I AM PAYING FOR EVERY MONTH, baby."
Even if your house is paid for, you'll find out who really owns it if you stop paying your property taxes
Well they own a right to stay at their home by paying a monthly rent. It depends on how you interpret it.
Owning a home gives social security and that's why people say I own a home, although it may be rented...
Because they already got the ownership of the house. Just pay it as installment doesnt mean it doesn't belong to you. If you dont want to pay you can sell the house and use the money to pay your debt or ask the seller continue paying the installment.
You got a choice, you can pay rent, or pay taxes. If you make payments and pay taxes, theres really not a whole heap of difference, except making payments on ownership builds equity.
EXACTLY! If you have to pay taxes on something (I mean more than when you first buy it) then you do not own it - the government does. We (in America anyway) think that we own our vehicles, houses, etc. but we have to pay taxes to the guvna basically for the right to keep and use them. If we actually owned these things why would we have to pay taxes on them year after year?
