I was wondering if it was possible to make a PayPal account for only one website, and still maintain my personal PayPal account? I was hoping to make it so that when people pay, it says "You are paying xxx.com" instead of my name. Would this be a problem in Paypal's eyes, and how would I go about doing it?
You are allowed to have two PayPal accounts. One free and one can be business/premier. The only requirements are that different email addresses and different financial information for each (bank / credit card). Good luck.
So I would have to have a separate bank account for the Paypal account for my website? Could I simply open another account with my bank, have the interlinked and get away with it? Thanks for the quick help, +rep for you. EDIT: Also, I have an account, and so does another person in my house. Both are personal accounts. Don't know if this would affect anything.
As long as the bank accounts are different then it's fine. That's fine since you are two different people. Here's the info on PayPal's site on the bottom --> https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=xpt/cps/general/PayPalAccountTypes-outside: "PayPal allows members to have one Personal account and one Premier or Business account. However, each PayPal account must contain unique email addresses and financial information. You may upgrade your account at any time." Thanks for the +rep.
Eh, one more question. Can I upgrade my account to Premier/Business and still have it display the website name when paying through the site, and my personal name elsewise, or is that not possible? Thanks again
Not possible but would it matter if it had your business name show when using it for personal stuff? It would grow your business up more if you had it shown more.
