i am trying to download wp and started on the configure file install when i go this error 'Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ')' in C:\wamp\www\wordpress\wp-config.php on line 5' i have no idea what it means or what i need to do. can someone please help me?
What does line 5 say, also it looks like its trying to call something from c: C:\wamp\www\wordpress\wp-config.php Are you running it on a local machine of a actual server
im not sure which is line 5...is that counting every line down even the <?php line? i found the file that this error is referring to. i am running wamp server and its in my wamp file.
define('DB_PASSWORD', ); // ...and password im guess this is line 5? do i count ALL the lines including the <?php line?
That is line 5, just out of interest when you set up the mysql details did you put your password that you made into the config file?
(just an aside, you can download pspad (free and very useful) so you dont have to use notepad. it also has automatic line numberiong. )
It seems that you deleted some codes from line 5, open up the config sample and just edit the part where it says "your database password here" and nothing else by putting your db pass there. Hope this solves it right away.
i downloaded wamp and i didnt put a password in per instructions from a video on how to download. i dont have a password to put in there....what do i do?
i just set up my wampserver db - ok i think i figured out that problem and now i have a new error code! Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in C:\wamp\www\wordpress\wp-config.php on line 32 there arent 32 lines...
i might be able to figure out the prob if i could figure out what line 32 is. i counted only 31 including the spaces. am i missing something?
