Hello. I am experimenting the last couple of days with Adwords etc. After reading quite a bit on forums, ebooks etc. However I find that there are way too many "tricks" and approaches one can take for a successful campaign. I was thinking to try the GAP program and certification. My question is: Is it really worth it from an informational point of view? Or will I get all the info from a couple of good eBooks and Blogs? I am still thinking about it due to my lazy nature. But I am curious irrespectively. Anyone has it? Impressions/feedback ? TIA
It can be helpful in landing clients but that's about it. If you're just doing stuff for yourself I'd say skip it, you won't learning anything you can't learn elsewhere. It's just a test anyways, not a learning platform.
If you want to make money you must be a PRO at what you do, you should go through as much information as possible, including everything here: http://www.google.com/adwords/learningcenter/ forums, adwords patents, blogs, ebooks, black hat forums etc... don’t just read some “adwords secrets ebook†and think you are a pro now – because you are not. Absorb and digest as much information as possible, test some campaigns and you just might make it. VERY IMPORTANT - PRACTICE!!!! Make campaigns, adgroups.... As far as GAP certification, you will be aware of more things as you prepare for the test. (No way can it hurt you) Good Luck!!! My 2c
The GAP certification is great for every newbie. If you can pass the GAP then you will have the general understanding of adwords and you can avoid questions like, what is broad match, and how do I add a text ad and what is quality score... However the GAP program will not make you a PRO ad adwords. Launching successful campaigns comes with experience, which is only learned through trial and error. Ebooks are a waste of time... I recommend finding a mentor to hand hold you and guide you through the basics
Appreciate your comments !!! You all have some important contribution !! As for Pros to guide me ... well I think this is harder to say than do! I don't think people would give away their "secrets". Paying for them? Sure ! How would you know whether they have had succesful campaigns? Thanks a lot again !!
