I've seen several publishers around incentivizing offers from Elite Commission where the offers specifically state that they cannot be. Why is this? Is it because they have special permission or what? I've contacted the EC managers to let them know, but it keeps continuing.. so it seems..

I heard one user who was given permission to incent one offer.

Some network account managers do allow site owners permission to run certain offers so unless you know the specifics between that owner / AM there really isn't anything you can do.

Now some sites do clearly state non incent, some site owners just don't pay attention to the specifics and many don't realize that some sites have an incentivized category, they just assume that there is no mention of non incent so they can run the offer, which isn't always the case

That they allow others to do it willingly until they are caught, but that they don't do anything to that publisher, and it happens with another offer, and so on. It ruins it for us all and ends up lowering the advertisers as well.

So are you upset with EC or the site owners?

You know its funny that you are ratting out others when you are one of the biggest offenders. Nice going. Also, EC is cookie stuffing, but that really doesn't bother me.

Did you review the leads from that publisher? Did you check on the quality and the ROI for the advertiser? Almost all advertiser for all campaigns are allowing incentive marketing, if your not allowed to do so, that doesn't mean the advertiser is not allowing this to someone else.

You should really just mind your own business and let others mind theirs.

    Isn't it the same. :D

If something occurred on MakeThatDollar, it may have been from the new site owner. The site was sold in February to someone else but I have recently taken over (within the past month). Let me know what occurred on the site as no offers have never been incentivized that weren't allowed to from the networks. As others have stated, some managers do give you permission to incentivize certain ones, so if that's the case, there isn't anything to worry about, which may in fact be the same case that is occurring here with EC. It's just that I highly doubt that since when I ask the EC owner about it, he says its not allowed.

How can I review them? I'm not doing the offers and not seeing the leads.

Thats right, but the networks are keep a really close eye on leads, and especially offers that are not incentive to most publishers.

An affiliate manager will usually not have the power to just let someone run a certain offer as non-incentive, high volume publishers will usually work closely with a VP (of marketing or business development or whatever), even then, he has to take this request higher up, the network will review the quality the publisher is bringing with incentive offers, if the quality is good enough, he could run certain offers as incentive.

The network will tell you this is not a lot, if your small time, it makes some sense isn't it? it takes hours upon hours for this process to be completed per offer per publisher, and hours cost money. Is this making any sense now?

Yeah it makes sense and I understand.

Let me state the issue here again. I have noticed (several times) that certain EC publishers are incentivizing offers that clearly state they cannot be. I then contact the owner of EC to let them know about it. He states that its not allowed one bit and that they'll let the publisher know and to put a stop to it. Then 1-3 weeks later or so, it happens again with the same publishers. I let the owner of EC know. He says its not allowed and will let them know. Etc. The loop continues...
