oh yes...i think media is at fault also..
they are not giving enough attention to other sports as it should. They just want their TRPs increased...
the only form of media that is promoting other sports by blaming government is the nespaper editorials.
i think only these people understand what is important for our country.. besides us. :D

I think we should also take advantage of the newspaper publicity to promote our sportsmen...

I think you are perfectly entitled to be proud of your first Gold Medal at the Beijing Olympic Games.
It would be pointless to compare Phelps performance with anybody else but another swimmer.
Those who must feel quite sorrowful are the US athletes who, until now, had dominated all the speed races and now they have to accept that Jamaicans are better and faster.
    So enjoy your medal!

Yes! Indian people never donate 1 Rs to other sports if someone ask it but they are crazy to spend 3 Rs/sms and channel also get 50,000 to 60,000 Votes.:D

its not about the medals, its about the growth in sports facilities.

unless the sports facilities improve throughout the nation, one or two medals here and there wont do much good!

Yes and goverment not spending money to sports even BCCI spend more money then Indian Goverments. If Goverments will not provide funds to players then player have to face this problems and they can't win more medals.

i recently learnt that abhinav bindra spent rs 5 crore from his own pocket on his training!!!!

since abhinav is a millionare, he is an exception.

what about the other aspiring sportsmen who are not fortunate enough like abhinav ?

Well Laxmi Mittal is helping them and they also helped 15 players and among them 2 won the medal in Olympics. He also spend more money to see India won atleast 10 medal in London.

I wish other company will also spend some money on players.:)

Yes spot one and if some Corporate Groups take responsibility for few players then it will give better results. It is also better then invest money in IPL. If they spend same amount of money on this sports then we can have more medals.:)
