Adsense (GOOGLE) are going to far.

    Why?

    1. It seems if a large percentage of your traffic comes from social bookmarking sites like digg or face book, you are running the risk of getting banned.

    2. If a large percentage of your traffic comes from ads that are not adsense, i.e. adbrite. You are at risk of getting banned.

    3. If you place image ads near pics. You are going to get banned.

    4. Banned for having to many key words in your content. Considered as keyword stuffing.

    5. If they dont like your content you get banned.

    6. If the majority of your traffic comes from other countries other than the origin of the ads they have on your site. Watch your ppc average drop from say $0.20 to $0.01 and if this form of traffic continues you get banned.

    7. If people are clicking on your ads to many times from the same I.P address you could get banned even if you don't no this is going on.

    8. If adsense ads are on this thread I could get banned for using the word banned to much.

    9. Banned for email marketing.

    10. Basically if you try to promote your hard work your website you may get banned from adsense.

Google is the big brother of the internet, guess what people it's only because we put them there. We could easily wipe them out over night if we so wished.

I'm sick of kissing GOOGLE arse. It would'nt be the end of the world if I stopped using Adsense. In fact it may even be liberating, FREE at last.

By the way I'm not BANNED but read to often in forum threads of people getting banned for what seems like, no good reason.

    That's my rant over with.

    What's your opinnion of GOOGLE?

I agree with some of what you are saying but you kind of ruin your credibility by promoting links at the end of your post.

The point obviously is lost on you primeelite. This is the peoples domain and I will not bend to any one entity within. That link is a point scored in defiance, make of it what you will.

Maybe that link could lead you away from the clutches of big brother. It may even enlighten you to a secret within.

So, basically you both agree that Google sux in some points but... you're fighting each other. So, I don't see a reason why Google should be concerned about its domination. :)
Otherwise, I also share the opinion that Google does not behave very nice.

Yeah, being a partner of Google for over 5 years now I can say there is a lot you can do to not get banned:

    1. Read their terms and conditions
    2. Follow their webmaster guidelines
    3. Don't cheat

When CBS sponsors an event, they don't want NBC ads all over the event as well do they? They don't allow it. Google takes a similar approach if you put "similar ads" up on your site that can be confused with Google. It is a simple request to protect their brand. Any major brand would request the same.

There are other choices out there. Sign up for YPN, or Kontera or whatever. Interestingly, I think you will find other ad networks (like YPN) have similar rules... and for a good reason.

Google wants targeted visitors, not random clickers/cheaters.

Try to make money as PPC advertiser, and see how your opinions change. Imagine, you paid $1000's for clicks and in return you get little or no sales at all? Wouldn't it make you happy?

Google just helps to prevent advertisers from doing so.

Some of what you say is nothing new and is easily found in the TOS and Policies. The rest of what you say is crap and just a cheap way to try to promote your link.

It comes down to the fact that if you follow the rules, you will be fine. If you can't read or do not follow the rules, just do not waster your time using Adsense.

Some good points there. But, they are Paying us money and we have to do what they say. They want natural traffic along with some referred traffic... Traffic from only social bookmarking sites is not good..

Uh, with that much money at stake, and that many people out there trying to game the system (just read the number of threads in here that say something like "Google tell if i click from other computer?") and you'd be very serious about it, too.

Nice discussion. Google has started this business for years and now there are many PPC competitors. That is why I believe Google is more selective to ensure that their advertisers don't spend their money to display their ads on unrelated sites. Anyway, I just know about point number one.

Are you sure they will ban your account if they don't like your content? It's too subjective here.
Anyway, some of those points that you mentioned here is true but nonetheless, you just have to play according to their rules.

You are two faced, seven months of your life have been wasted on arse kissing trying to get back into the grace of Yahoo. Remember when you where banned in 2005 http://www.sockmoney.com/2006/10/banned-from-yahoo.html. So dont come all high and mighty on this thread.

You need to understand one thing ads are ads, when adverts are shown on telly they dont show ads from just one company but from any company that pays, understand. It's still a free market out there and it's my site and I'll do as I please with it.

If you intend to make money through adsense, follow the TOS in letter and spirit and if you don't like any of their TOS, there are other alternatives you can always choose and you are not bound by any advertiser to display their ads in your site...

Yes, and even on TV an advertiser will "pull it's ads" if it doesn't like something. Google can and does the same thing. Live with it. Free market goes both ways.

it's a risk we all have to take if we want to try to moneterise our websites, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.
