What does a $500-$1000 per month WordPress blog look like?

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by Amadore, Sep 1, 2008.

    Hello,

I currently run a site that makes about 500 dollars a month in adsense, but it is a BEAR to work with. It was the first website I ever designed and its not user friendly at all. I am wanting to convert totally to wordpress.

Does anyone have a link to a few WordPress sites that make 500-1000 on a monthy basis? I am trying to see the general layout I will need.

    Thanks,

    Amadore.

You can have an ugly blog and it still earns a lot. Just change to one that you like and that is more user friendly.

You better take a look at some paid premium wordpress themes.

Your question is a little awkward though...same design can have two total different numbers in terms of revenue. One can run a wordpress blog just for his personal use with 20 visitors per day and a monthly revenue of $10. Then again another person can run this same design in a highly convertible niche with 1000 uniques per day and get $5000 per month.

It all depends on what your niche is, what you promote, if you have any affiliate offers, which publisher networks you run...

P.S. You can get nice free wp themes too, but they may be too general and too many blogs have the theme installed already. So if you do that, customize it.

You need lots of traffic and you need well paying niche.

To make 1000/mo, you need 33/day. If you get 10 cents per click thats 330 clicks. At 5% CTR it means 6600 pageviews per day.

To get traffic - you need lots of content and lots of links.

    Simple as that.

There are so many simple and clean layouts. Just google "Wordpress themes". (or) Hire any designer and make any unique design.

agree 200% percent on that, im one to make all shinny lol but some sites look crap to put it bluntly but they work and its as simple as that, yes they could do better, but if it aint broke dont fix it.

Wordpress the software is adsense friendly and is NOT allowed to have restricting terms placed on it's use because it is open source. wordpress.com on the other hand can do whatever they like on their free blog hosting site. Don't confuse the two.

Pick a free template, test for results, worse case scenario is that you revert the site after a month. Testing is fun!

My recipe site http://www.free-recipes.co.uk/ made just over $1,000 last month from AdSense and it uses WordPress as a general CMS. It's a terrible niche (low cost per click), so needs a lot of traffic (almost 250K visitors last month) but the theme I use has a good CTR (tend to get over 5% for most sites).

I sell the theme on one of my sites (see sig).
