I am developing a number of directories focused on my niche of probate and estate attorneys. I have approx. 20 probate directory websites and will be using phpld software. Because these sites are very, very focused on the niche I believe these links are much more valuable than common broad based categories. Opinions welcome... I expect to charge $49.97 a month for 100 links. Does this seem resonable?
little confused by the offer.. one single customer will submit 100 links for $50 a month specifically for sites that are about probate and estate attorneys?
Yes, I have about 20 websites that I expect to turn into law link directories. I also have 2 blogs and 2 forums... so getting to 100 probate relevant links (per attorney) should not be a problem. By having the site loaded with probate attorneys (and content) I think all listing participants will benefit... feedback welcome... I already have a 350 full service probate and estate settlement website. The link program is to a low cost "farm team" that I can move up market...
Agree...my directory is free and I will be charging soon because the traffic is very high and the reputation is already there.
I have a website that gets 6,000 unique visitors a month. My website concentrates on a high ticket items and creates prospects for financial advisors and attorneys. The average estate that is settled is nearly a half million dollars. 6,000 may seem low but in this industry it is very big. If I give one good client to an attorney it will result in 20,000 to 40,000 in revenue for him. This whole thing about a link price calculator (likely equates a hit for selling clickbank junk with delivering a large account to an attorney). If a stock broker got 5 accounts from my site a year he would pay thousands.... see the difference... I need some good ole judgement / guesstimates.... The alternative is to say just sell it at a price that I think is right. Products aren't bought they are sold. I just need a different matrix... thanks to all...
estateguy, To determine how much you are going to charge you need to first determine how much it is going to cost you. How much each month will you be spending on hosting, getting the law firms to sign up on monthly agreements, getting the leads in. Annual domain name renewals... how much of your time will it take you to maintain and what is your time worth? Have you determined how you will deliver the leads to the prospective law firms? Simply setting up a directory and throwing some traffic at it will not be very effective as you have no way of determining which law firms have picked up leads. For example... lets say you have a category which has 20 firms listed. 90% of the traffic will go through the first three listings, how will you ensure the remaining 17 listings get their fair share of leads? Because if they don't then they will be unlkely to maintain a monthly arrangement. Forget the whole link price calculator thing because that is all based on Google PageRank and is not something your prospective advertisers are likely to care about. At the end of the day they want the leads. If I were in your position this is how I would go about it. Set up the directories and calculate the costs... determine a price which covers your costs but that still makes for a great "introductory" offer. Contact your prospective advertisers and make them an offer at the price you have calculated... throw in a free month if you think it will help. THEN, deliver the leads. If you deliver the leads then it will be much easier to increase the price and tie in your advertiser to a longer contract. Personally I would go for an annual contract which (again if leads have been delivered) shouldn't be a problem because as you say.... Good luck with your project.
