Not normally as most blog platforms use the "no follow" tag for comments but if you leave decent feedback you can still get a bit of traffic from them.
Don't comment just for the backlink whether the blog uses nofollow or not. The best use of a comment is to get the owner of the site to subscribe to your feed and then hopefully link to one of your posts in the future.
it definitely counts as a backlink even if it's nofollow. Just that you don't get any PR Juice from it.
It counts as a backlink, but most are no-follow. What I normally do is leave my link in the body of them comment too, so I get more value out of it. I always write a decent comment - nothing spammy because you might get spammed in return!
Quite right, I also do the same, expect for the link in the body of the comment . And yes, back links from blogs are valid, just ensure that you comment on blogs that are closely related to your website niche....
spending your 9-5 on commenting in other people's blogs will likely do more for the blog-owner than for yourself. there are better ways to spend your work day, i believe.
What sort of blogs would you recommend to leave comments on? Do you just leave your website link at the end, even if it isn't relevant?
Do you go to a book store and ask for a cheeseburger? Or to McDonald's and ask for sushi? Assuming you're sane and you don't, why would you treat a website any differently?
