    Hey Folks:

I got a fairly new site (March) I did some optimization to it, all manually, and I got a pr2 in the recent 3 week ago pr update for the toolbar.

Ever since then I began to manually do SEO link trades and articles etc...all the white hat tricks to get it to rank better.

Yesterday the PR went down to 1. I am assuming this was a manual drop from the google guys....could someone shed light on this as to why they would manually drop the PR when I am doing everything you are supposed to be doing to make it rank better?

    Thanks.

Yes, that's becoming more and more common especially for sites selling / buying links.
In my opinion you can't do anything about it. Just wait and pray for your penalty to expire.

Yeah.. That may be the reason Google lowered your PR.
    I have experienced this before.

Why do you think it was manual?

I've noticed a variation on my PR pending on the sites I link out to. Obviously the more you link out the more your PR will drop. But I've also found I have a higher rank when I link to related sites, so PR isn’t everything.

In fact, don’t even bother looking at it. Get relevant inbound links, quality content, link out to relevant sites that will be useful to your users and concentrate on making a useful site

But when I try to link exchange with other high PR site they just deny my request. Then PR drop is a real problem . Few days ago one of my site dropped to PR0 from PR3. What a Shame. And I never sold or buy any link. So Google is doing many wrong things lately.

I am waiting on the next update. Hopefully I will finally get out of the 0. But for them to manually lower you would suck.

I feel uncertain about my site.
What action do you take to let google trust your site again. General speaking, How long will it take ?
