A Google exploit that involves a number of high-profile, high-ranking websites linking to a certain site or page for a specific keyword phrase. Because the linkers are high-ranked sites, the site they link to naturally also acquires a high rank. The most prominent case of Google bombing which exists to this day is the “miserable failure†bomb. If a user enters the keyword phrase “miserable failure†in Google, the first search result points to the profile page on the official White House website of US president George W. Bush.

Google Bombing is done by the SEO community every day. It's called "Off Page Search Engine Optimization".
Google bombing was essentially being able to link any particular keyword to a website... I'd say that by now, if G hasn't refined their algorithm so that people cannot G bomb using keywords that are not even mentioned on the page (i.e. "miserable failure") then there's something seriously wrong there...

Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_bomb A Google bomb (also referred to as a 'link bomb') is Internet slang for a certain kind of attempt to influence the ranking of a given page in results returned by the Google search engine, often with humorous or political intentions.[1] Because of the way that Google's algorithm works, a page will be ranked higher if the sites that link to that page use consistent anchor text. A Google bomb is created if many sites link to the page in this manner. Google bomb is used both as a verb and a noun. The phrase "Google bombing" was introduced to the New Oxford American Dictionary in May 2005.[2] Google bombing is closely related to spamdexing, the practice of deliberately modifying HTML pages to increase the chance of their being placed close to the beginning of search engine results, or to influence the category to which the page is assigned in a misleading or dishonest manner. Surely that will suffice..
