Never thought it would be possible but it sure did.Like others it was not something that happens overnight.Once I got the hang of everything the profit started coming together nicely. The one thing I can recommend is to study the forums for anything ppc related and stay up to date on all news pertaining to your niche. I started my campaign july the 24th and just started to really make money just a week ago.I would also say, start out with a good chunk of change and be prepared to lose that chunk for the sake of the learning process. Not every campaign will be profitable from the start. It will take some tweaking to eliminate bad keywords and such before you start seeing results. Those of you trying,Keep pressing on and you will succeed trust me. I wont have a prob answering questions but keep in mind I am a little new at this too!
#1 Dating #2 Weight Loss #3 Ringtones Theres quite a few more niches but they arent discussed since I am in the process of testing them.
I like your attitude. True, mistakes or errors are learning lessons. Just pin down what you did wrong and don't do it next time. Very true!
Thanks for the comment Imo the main obstacle you must overcome to be successful in ppc is yourself.I would get really nervous depositing a few hundred in my account and I would freak out if my whole daily budget was blown without any sales. Once you weed out the keywords and bad traffic its all laughing straight to the bank from there!
So you started affiliate marketing one month ago, and are now highly profitable in arguably the 3 toughest niches possible? That's really something
No not exactly,I have been doing affiliate marketing since about oct of 06.Ive tested on and off with ppc but didnt really dedicate my time untill july.Since I did some heavy bh marketing I had a good war chest of money to start with.
Ehh I guess I could accept that. But like I said folks,I never really applied myself to ppc untill late july.
....so this thread isn't just a pile of lies to promote the link in your sig? because that's pretty much what it looks like right now...
I actually had the link in my sig long before that post but thanks for pointing it out to me.I removed my link to keep all the queens at bay.Bad queens!Honestly I could care less if anyone believes me.I am just proud of what I have accomplished and just hoped this thread would serve as an inspiration to others.
Those niches are very general. Did you just do those keywords or did you do very specific niches in dating etc?
When I first start off I feel I made a mistake and just used general keywords.I made conversions but my cpc was really high.I started with only ringtones and many of my keywords had 1.00 av cpc. Then I slowly started expanding to more specific keywords to get a lower cpc. I took this lesson learned and started bidding on specifc phrases. So instead of dating, looking for date, nsa hookup, I would bid on bbw dating, looking for bbw dating, what site has bbw nsa dating. Those arent my keywords I am just using them as a general example.Just starting off I would say to bid on keywords that are not broad so that you will have a lower cpc and more targeted audience.
Thanks,I feel a little generous today so I will share a little tip. Once you get traffic going to your site and you have established profitable keywords and weeded out the non profitable keywords. Its a good idea to do the same for your traffic sources. You could try tracking202 or there self hosted app prosper202 so you can track everything.I had an adgroup that was just breaking even every day on my spend cost.I check my referers and slowly weeded out the sites that were not bringing in conversions. Now that group gives me back 100% roi.Hope this helps someone.Have a great day guys.
