John McCain has chosen Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to be his running mate

Yesterday a thread was posted on arranged marriage and a few women wanting to be allowed to marry whom they choose. The women were shot and then buried alive.

I have read in a few countries if women wear different attire they can be beaten.

Men are shot for inappropriate beard length.

Its not BS. I do not think Obama meant literally. I do believe that different views are not allowed in some countries and those views could lead to imprisonment or even death.

 

Thraxed, in the interest of avoiding more personality stuff (meaning, my personality stuff), I took Homebiz literally:

1. Yes, many people find the things I would say are a negative for her stances, to be positives, and will vote accordingly;

2. Yes, it is nice that in America, we can agree to disagree, in so many words. It's also nice that this takes place in countless countries around the globe. Homebiz may have implied otherwise, but I'd have to let him answer to that. I simply took the thought literally.

 

There is no malice intended with this statement. I did not imply that in other places it did not occur. I was trying to say it does not happen everywhere.

I think it's fine that me and NPT "can agree to disagree" and we have different views.

The statement was meant to be taken literal.

The race is really tight. Obama has a slight edge but the Presidential race has just begun.
