Success or Disaster

Loads of people are skilled at certain things, can you imagine if everyone on DP teamed together on a project and worked together in unison. Do you think that would be a success where loads would have a cut of a huge pie for life, or would it be a disaster and could not work.

    Thoughts?

    Hello,

Perhaps you should start 'mastermind' group or propose a project that people could join?

Maybe you need to decide on the rolls to fill then fill the slots....,

    should work - why not,

Let me know if you launch something,

It wouldn't work because there are too many types of personalities here and you'll spend more time debating than actually working.

    Plus the legal hurdles.

    Plus language barriers.

    The list is endless.

Too many cooks could spoil the broth. My experience of collaborations is that everyone tries to take control and when not listened to will huff.
One thing about digital point users that might be different is that there are loads of creative people like webdesigners and graphics people here and by the nature of thier work, they are used to taking criticism and using it in healthy way. So a collaboration could work..

I think the key issue could perhaps be trust, but if you have a trustworthy person in charge, and this person is neutral to everyone, and all see that they get paid etc, then it would do very well. Which brings me on to another point, what would you all categorise as the main job roles, ie designer, writer etc etc

It's early days, and I run a UK website by myself, its not possible for me to run a US version through the work required, though I do have the .com domain for it, this is something that I would seriously consider doing.

It depends of project. It is important the project has people capable . The team must have a leader.

I would be a disaster. Too many people would bicker about how the project should be done, while others would just jump the gun and start working on their own to contribute. Other people would spam and use black hat to promote the project, which would counter the white hat techniques used by the rest of the people and the site would eventually fail.

But I could see pulling together a group of say 10-20 people here to work on a project together.

It depends on the project, and the people you let in to it. I don't think the scam artists would have much to contribute.

Forget working with the whole DP community, I'd just work with Barefootsies and do whatever he tells me. That man is a true online business guru

If it was a website, total failure in my opinion. But if it was a forum, I think we could do very well together.

    my quick input -

there are to many members here with different goals. some want $100 a month some want $100,000 in a month, the "mastermind" group would have to resonate in harmony.

some members want power, some want to share then receive, some are self centered, some are selfless, some have egos, and some are balanced.

it would be interesting start up and of course creative and synthetic imagination along with observing need to be implemented.

We need a small "team manager" (two or three people) to manage the project.
