    Hey guys.

It took a longtime and I pretty much forgot about the DMOZ but I knew that my site was high quality so it would surely be there eventually.

    But I'm in.

Now I'm curious to know what effect will it have.

Will it even make a difference?

Its only as good as any good link. Nothing special, nice to be in but not essential .

To some, it seems to boost their ego, while others have noted that it's not the silver bullet that one might expect.

    Your milage will vary. ;)

That's too bad because after watching all of the fussing around here for years it should have better results.

This site which I can't mention is one that gets .edu and .gov links weekly because schools tend to value the informaton.

I guess this DMOZ isn't going to make much of a difference.

A good site is like a good restaurant, you don't need to use tricks or advertisement to make it successful, word of mouth alone will do that, and the satisfaction is much higher, you know you've earned it. ;)

As you've seen? Mind sharing your insites rather then just your post count?

My site is listed, and the only real perk traffic wise was when I clicked the link myself a few months ago when I checked to see if the listing was still there. As for PR, I've ben listed for over a year, and there has been no change from before it was listed...

    Words of Wisdom :D

Submit & forget. Move on to other directories, and other means of promotion... in the long run, if the site is worthy of praise, it'll get it on it's own. If it's not, then you are just bloating your numbers.
