    Hi,
I have my blog and i got decent traffic and visitors read my post and comment it.I got 1 to 4 comments a day.I got more spam also so i decided to install captcha in commenting place.I got no spam absolutely but also no genuine comments.
Is the captcha hated by visitors? What is your experience?
    Let me know.

Captcha is good because it allows for non-automated posts, you need it if you don't want spam

Captcha's are good... they can be bypassed, but i'd advise utilising them... it'll stop spam, and if people want to put a quality comment, they'll still comment

Captcha pretty much discourages everyone from commenting spammers and legitimate posters alike.

captcha does not deter me at all from posting to someones blog or other source, i believe that if the user took the time to put such a system on their site to help with spam then they are sensible and worth spending a little bit of my time to comment on them

If people cant be assed using captcha for whatever reason then they are just lazy!

The main reason is whether your blog is "dofollow" or otherwise. If it is, having captcha won't deter or annoy visitors from leaving comments.

I hate captchas personally (especially the ones where it takes 5 attempts to get it right). I think it would deter legitimate people from commenting. I recommend using askimet it really does get most of the spam and leave most of the proper comments (you can quickly check it once a week to make sure no legit comments are wrongly removed) but it keeps the blog comment section inviting.

I think publicizing on the blog that its a DoFollow Blog and adding up capatcha on comments will insure human comments.. then you can use Akismet for filtering out the spam, i wrote about it on my blog too.

    cheers

Don't forget genuine person will add comment even if you installed the captcha. So don't worry about this. Just install it to stop spamming.

Captcha prevent automated spam. It is OK if we use it to block the spam.

Spam sucks but I don't I don't believe you should punish you're readers with an annoying captcha just because you're too lazy to moderate your blog. There's some good spam plugins that will filter out the worst of the spam. It also shows that you care enough about your blog to read what people have written there. To me captcha is just a big red flag that says "I'm only here to quickly login and copy/paste an article so I can milk money out of adsense." Why should I waste my time contributing a quality comment when the blog owner can't be bothered to login and see what I have to say? Unless the blog is dofollow and I'm getting a backlink for my efforts. In that case we all win. =)

captcha is helping to spammer, but no any disadvantage of captcha if anybody like your blog so, he will definitely comment to your blog with captcha.

based on my own experience captcha tend to become annoying, because it is time consuming and it does need a 20/20 vision.
