I recommend it to all DP'ers, but I suggest not to use it at all.

    Very sensitive stuff.

Do you have any English qualifications? I have a grade A GCSE in English Language! :D It's also the only language I speak.

I'd also be teaching you real English, not American English. :)

Dude you come across a bit arrogant. English isn't a first language for everyone. As long as they get the point across, that's all that really matters I guess.

I have English qualifications too! Will that allow us to charge more? :p
Passed A-level English First Language when I was 14 even though it wasn't my first language

    Anyway, a little more on-topic:
    http://www.learnenglish.org.uk/index.html
I know this topic mostly started as a joke but you can do so much more online if you can speak/write proper English.
You shouldn't be embarrassed about learning it.

    Maybe just a lot :D

In Europe you study English at a very early age at school?

    Hellz yeah!

I don't have a gripe with ESLs at all...but it's those who can't put a sentence together and post a "turn $5 into $10,000" scheme all around the forums that I can't stand.

That, and the fact that these clowns undercut everyone in the writing section and now everyone expects to pay at a rate of $0.01 a word for article creation.

LOL so it's the schemer's that piss you off. Fucken oath they do!! :D

I was going to make a thread in the Suggestions saying to disallow "get rick quick scheme" type threads, but it will probably get ignored.

IMO it makes DP look cheap.

No, not at all.. I didn't even know what 'how are you' meant when I was 8.
I went to an international school after that, learned a little English and prepared for the IGCSE English exam on my own because there weren't any teachers in the country for the first language course. Anyway, my English is getting worse because I never use it. It's sad how fast you can forget a language when it's your second language. :/

    Just came across this:
    http://andromeda.rutgers.edu/~jlynch/Writing/
Good link for those who are trying to improve their grammar..

Really. It was my understanding in Europe you study English in school at a pretty early age. At least I know they do this in Italy. The education system is pretty good there (so my parents tell me). I can understand you losing the language a bit. If it's not something you are constantly doing then it's hard to keep it up.

Not here in The Netherlands. When I went back to school here at 15 my classmates knew nothing about the English language. Very few European countries teach English at an early age..
