    How do some of you make those avatars with advertisements? Is there some site you can visit?

    make them? Use a graphics program, or hire someone to do it for you.

    one or both of them are probably getting paid for having that avatar there. People buy avatar space on a monthly basis here on DP.

    All you have to do is create a logo/picture and resize it to 80 x 80.
