Ringtone Ads Dominating Adsense

Anyone wanna take a guess what kind of affect all these ringtone ads are having on CPM? They're everywhere. You can't miss them. It could be coincidence, but I've noticed a major drop in CPM right after the Flycell ads started dominating my entertainment site.

Addendum: Hmm, interesting, I just took a look at my entertainment site and the ringtone ads seem to have disappeared completely...

I noticed them all over the place, too. Definitely clouding up the sites and I have had the worst eCPM in months today. My eCPM over the past 150 days has been +/1 $0.50 non stop. Today, lots of ringtone ads and eCPM is down almost 70%.

Who actually buys ringtones when you can make your own? Sheesh.

Jack, I noticed the same thing. I was swamped with ringtone ads for about a day, and then they suddenly disappeared, which made me very happy :)

Mine just popped back up again today. No way to block them either, others just show up.

I think ringtone ads are popping up because of the experiment posted on a blog i've read...I forget whose it was but it was definately about ringtones.

I gotta start filtering out flycell ads. You guys are killing my CPC.

Just to be safe -- you DO pay pretty low CPC for these ringtone ads, right?

At least you get paid something for the ringtone ads, unlike the hundreds of ringtone comment spams that I get to my blog every day. :(

I think it's about 50/50 at the moment, not that I care. Spam is spam, whatever it's trying to sell.
