eBay has filed suit against Digital Point, and others over an alleged cookie stuffing scheme. It accuses Shawn Hogan (founder and CEO of Digital Point Solutions) and others of devising a software programs that automatically redirected users to eBay without clicking on an eBay advertisement, resulting in an affiliate cookie being place on each users computer marked with the defendants affiliate code so that for future purchases they received a cut Although cookie based affiliate tracking is a very flawed technology, This is pretty big news for us (Digital Point members and users). We all love and believe in Shawn. The questions are "has the eBay gone mad or that's some culprit forum members trying to cookie stuff? What are your thoughts about this? Please post your views and latest developments about the case in this thread. Details of the case can be found here.
This is shocking news! What is the real situation, where exactly shawn did it? Or is it that some of themembers did it and Shawan being held responsible?
The link you provided makes for an interesting read. I quote: You should at least also ask yourself whether the allegations could possibly be true...
I believe eBay has gone mad. This is stupid. Even though I am new to Digitial Point I can still see that they would never mean to do this... Stupid eBay.
Ok guys!! Back to business.. Lets just wait for the first hearing if ever there will be. I am so glad that I am just a small FISH.. Shawn is a BIG fish so for sure this is not new to HIM... Everybody could just easily accuse somebody. But still accusation is never a sign of GUILT. taraaaaaaaaaaaaaa
