I would like some expert advice if this is a good idea or a good nitche to go into.

I found a nitche where there are about 7 long-tail keywords that i can use that get anywhere from 1x,xxx to 2xx,xxx searches a month.

I can get each of these keywords on googles adwords for around 5-10 cents a click. Some of the keywords dont have any advertiser.

When i search the keywords on google the affilate im advertising shows in first place on about half of them. This is my main concern.

The affilate also has a very high gravity.

Is this a favorable investment? should I start constructing a landing page for this affilate?

Thanks ahead of time and I hope you can shead some light for me.

    ***EDIT***
Its been about 5 hours since i checked the adwords pricing and now everything is raised to a .5 minimum for some reason...anyone know why this happens?

Your best bet would be to simply test.
Let's say the commission is 20$. So allow yourself to spend up to 20$ in Adwords! If you make a sale - you make the money back, if not - than you should start figuring out why.

p.s. it is niche (pronounced [neesh], not nitche.) ;)

Noone can possibly answer your questions - simply because noone can know these things before trying them, you need to test it out and see how it goes. Its worth to invest some time if you think its going to be profitable but if not find something else and move on in the marketing game....

    Thanks for the replys

ok I will just test it out then. Do you think the fact that the website im advertising for is #1 for most of the keywords will have really negative effects or is this usually not a problem?

You may get some non-converting impulse clicks at the first position but if you are, for the most part, driving targeted visitors and the sales pitch is good you should be fine.
