hey, i am new bie, i dont know anything about marketing search engine optimazation but after reading many things, i get some little idea i start my website www.geomsn.com with my top keyword msn display pictures if we search it from google.com i come in first page, but yahoo and msn are not supporting what should i do ?? i realy need feedback thanks
Yahoo and MSN takes time, so if you are ranking in Google it won't be long like 3-4 weeks and you will be ranking too in Yahoo.
i m very confuse. many people says that i m first in google but not in yahoo and msn. i want to know that how that is possible that many people come at first. ??? :O
its true you can judje yourself it open google.com and search "Msn display pictures you will my site in first page, and i am getting many visitors from it, google listed more than 4000 pages of site, but yahoo and msn have less pages i am not expert in SEO, but i work very hard on it
My opinion is that to rank high in Yahoo, it is even more important to have fresh content than it is for Google. Also, be sure you go to http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/ and fill in the form to "Add My Site" Afterwards you will be able to add your feeds - you need to do it in order to give yourself a better visibility in Yahoo. Also, check if All your images got ALT tags, it is necessary if you want to get traffic from Yahoo Image Search. Find your competitor who ranks high in Yahoo and try to explore how he does it, then replicate and do better!!! Oh yes you will, oh yes you will...!
thanks for your goood reply, my site was already listed in yahoo but less pages and vistors ranking is like no today i check i am surprised yahoo listed 527 pages of my site now i have add my site in http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com and add feeds, can you tell me whats its advantage, how can it benifit to me ??? now i am happy that i will start receving visitors from yahoo tooooooo !!!

Well I had the opposite problem, Yahoo ranked funfair-rides.com top for 'funfair rides for hire' while Google hadn't even indexed it... and as tankard says.. Oh yes you will, I notice quite a lot of traffic on that particular url comes from Yahoo although now it's ranked on Google's front page of results there is more traffic from there..

well its my personal opinion that many persons use yahoo search engine from india, yahoo is more popular in asia then others, is there any idea how to promote in yahoo ?? there should be some good planning, i want some professinal guidline so we can all work on yahoo,
If you are at no. 1 on google then you should be happy. You will get most of the traffic from there only. Yahoo and google have different algorithms to rank webpages. In my personal experience if you want to rank well for a particular keyword in yahoo, use that keyword repeatedly within your text, title, decription and meta keywords. But if you do that, google might not like you. So, its a compromise that you have to do.
Yahoo and Msn are a bit lazy SE's, they'll take far more time than google to index the webpages. If you want to make the process faster, Submit a sitemap to Yahoo Site Explorer and it'll work. Good luck.
I think it just takes lots of hard work. One time one of my sites was on the first page of yahoo and msn. But the traffic was only like 30 visits each day, not much. So it might not be worth the trouble even.
try submitting to the yahoo directory:http://dir.yahoo.com/ 300$/year for commercial sites, but if you need high ranking there it's required..
