Hi friends, I am looking for a PHP based MVC framework for one of my new project. Recommend me a MVC framework that you have used in past and were satisfied with the results. Please put a comment 'Why it is better than XYZ'. I will write my review, once I finalize.
I love CodeIgniter because it's lightweight and pretty easy to pick up. I've heard great things about CakePHP because it's heavier but offers more features. I've also heard great things about Zend Framework because it's loosely coupled, meaning you can activate whatever parts of the framework you want without worrying about another part breaking. It really boils down to what your project needs are.
Hi I had this dilemma once ,and found a good article about that check and reply w w w.phpit. net/article/ten-different-php-frameworks/ Thank you
We all know that each has their own preferences and requirements, so expect varied responses. This is analogous to which is better IE or Firefox? Anyway, I spent approximately 4 weeks evaluating several PHP-based web application frameworks. The evaluation model and scoring strategy was based solely on my requirements. I selected and currently use the Zend framework. I should note that one of the requirements was native PHP 5.x, so that eliminated all of the PHP 4.x frameworks including CakePHP. Write the review and report back.
Currently I am experimenting with cakePHP and codeigniter. I will play with few others also, and finally post here. which one I choose.
Although I'm more of a Rails guy, I've used CodeIgniter in the past, and I like it. It's lightweight and simple. I found CakePHP to be a bit of a mess, but its been a while since I last looked at it. I haven't used it, but Symphony looks really good. I read somewhere that Yahoo uses Symphony for some of its projects. Symphony seems quiet feature packed, with ORM and other useful goodies.
