I am looking for the most efficient, free blogging script for creating my first ever blog, hosted on my webspace. What would you recommend? WordPress? I am interested in getting my blog out there with perhaps an RSS feed, and I intend to make money with it using AdSense, so these should factor into opinions!
I've always gone with Wordpress myself. No real problems with it. (Except the frequent updates. But updating is better than being hacked.) It's easy to install, good documentation and a great community making themes and plugins for it. WP will handle the rss feed for you. or you could run it through feedburner. As for adsense. Adding it via either theme files or using a plugin such as adsense deluxe (Or one of the many other adsense plugins available). Hope that helps in your decision making. Best wishes Dan
Wordpress is the way to go. It is free easy to install and setup. If you have a hosting account that has fantastico you can auto install it with fantastico. Plugins and themes are easy to install you just upload them to your server account into the wordpress installation folders and then turn them on in your blogs admin. Your host will need to be able to run php and MySQL databases. If your stuck for hosting pm me i can help with that
wordpress will be best as compare to blogspot. u can use adsense deluxe, all in one adsense plugin for Placing ad code. And "all in one seo" plugin for onpage seo.
Another vote here for Wordress. Use it on a number of sites and it is easy to use, has lots of free themes and plugins and has a great support network available.

The best CMS of all the wordpress which has also recieved many awards for the same. It would always be recommended to use it
