Where can I find a full list of Special Characters/Simbols like ► ★ ➡ ▄ , and others, that can be used in HTML pages? I found the list from W3.org at http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/Guide/Advanced but it still does not include fancy simbols like the ones above. I'm not refering to Smilies or such as well. Does anyone know about that list? Thanks in advance.
Hi, Just found this in google which may be of some use: http://www.siber-sonic.com/mac/charsetstuff/Soniccharset.html Select the category from the top-middle list Regards, Steve
Thanks for the list, quite resourceful. Could find some good simbols but unfortunatelly still could not find the ones above. I basically need the HTML code for â–º or âž¡ Those are good simbols but we can not use them in browsers, they are code for Windows/Word applications. Anyway, +rep for both of you for the help.
I wouldn't recommend using symbols like that. Use only symbols that are mapped in HTML entities or some people might have problems viewing your Web site properly.
I agree, I don't want to make heavy use of them, just in a few cases like Title description in SERPs. Just look at the simbol in my signature below and you can imagine what they can do for you, specially there on SERPs, where Titles are all too similar some times.
Thanks but still not what I am looking for. Just found these two and will stick to them for now: and •
You'd have to either embed a webdings font (bad idea, means everyone who comes to your site has to download a font just for these characters) or make them as an image (the best way).
Huh? I gave you the chart of every possible character, and it's not what you're looking for? I don't know what that first symbol is, it's not in my glyph set. The second is simply •, or &8226; ‣ ‣, â–¶ ▶, â–º ►, ⇠⇝, ⇒ ⇒ and ⇨ ⇨ Those all come from the chart. Just learn to use it. gary
Actually, those Are exactly what I am looking for. I just couldn't see them in that page so I assumed they were not there or would not show up in most browsers (mine is IE7, standard, like most of my visitors). The image I got is below. Anyway, thanks for the codes. I'm already using them. Repd+ for you.
