Never gain status of a regular profession you say?

    Think of it this way...

    Professional:

    Prostitutes are partly psychiatrists
    Prostitutes are partly marriage counselors
Prostitutes are a huge benifit to society for making a lot of men happier then they would be without and therefor reducing any negative results if they wheren't happy
Prostitutes make men happier and therefor increasing productivity on the job
    Prostitutes are partly sex therapists

It's in my oppinion a job that deserves respect since it sure isn't easy for the girls and women involved in this profession and i am refering to the ones that are voluntarely without pressure doing this type of job.

Society is blessed with girls and women that are voluntarely and without pressure performing this type of job.

Well, making it free for the freedoms sake is my suggestion, as I said before. I will not look down on whores, atleast try. Some men would be very desperate and depressed if they didn't existed. But going the otherway will make many housewifes to feel uncomfortable, worried and sad.

Well anyway, I am pro-legalizing it, since we in west should play the freedom game with fair freedomistic rules.

voluntarily and without pressure. Lets hope so

I just consider my gorgeous little 8 year old daughter who can do anything, be anything in this world if she applies herself. Would I want her to be a whore. Hardly!

And as for gworld with his 1000 whores. Sorry mate, that's disgusting. And I come from a country that has legalised the industry! I wonder if the careers advisers look at the girls who are better looking than "courtney" and say "don't bother with all that study and swat, on your back girly"

And Stu - I'm much too shy to read your cumberland sausage blog entry. A related post perhaps?

Not related, but a female friend of mine once walked into a butchers in Cumbria to buy some Cumberland sausage. Cumberland Sausage comes in coils (not twisted links). She had never bought cumberland sausage before, and was a little confused by the great drapes of the sausage on display.
"Can I have some Cumbrian Sausage?" she asked
"How much would you like?" replied the butcher
"ohhhh about 18 inches should do"
The butcher had to leave the shop for a short while. I thought she was embellishing her days shopping when she told me, but a few days later the butcher told me the same story in the pub, so it's all true.

Interesting to see that twice as many peope think that prostitution isn't a respected profession, where as on the 'would you pay for sex' poll it's very nearly a 50-50 split

Of course you don't but that doesn't mean these women don't have postive effects as well for society.
And this is the reason why i vote yes.

Women in India clean up the shit from other people (and i mean shit for real) for 10 hours a day and maybe even more for peanuts and they are treated like shit and lepras!

Does this mean they don't have any benefit to their society?
On the contrary they do jobs that benefit their society very much!

Do they get the appreciation for it? No!
would a woman in India want her girl to be a full time shit cleaner? No!

So your feeling is understandble but that doesn't justify it isn't respectable.
It isn't respectable in a lot of peoples mind but it is for sure respectable in the sense of benifit towards society if we speak of a ideal give and take perspective...prostitution without pressure and out of free will of the woman in question.

The thread title would be better suited if it was called,

1:prostitution is a respectable profession in the views of citizens of society worldwide?

2:prostitution is a respectable profession towards society and gives benefit if it was practiced totally out of free will and without presure of any form?

    -------------------------------------------------------

You do realize Men in general are more sexual orientated and obsessed by sex?
And you do realize there are male prostitutes for women?
If you conclude from my posts that women don't have to be productive then you made the wrong conclusion!

When people and women are happy it's not that difficult to understand that people do their jobs better and are more easy going with other people and therefor enhancing the overall positive feeling on the work floor.

My point i am making is that when people feel better and happier because they have the option to have sex with a female or male for money and the one that is offering the sex for money is doing this out of free will and without pressure then it's a overall positive thing for society.

And any job that provides benefit to society deserves respect in my opinion...only problem is that the majority of todays society just don't see it that way because they feel they are better or wouldn't think of doing it themself.

^ This is the main issue!

Or would you think Nokia it would be better for society to have people that are constantly depressed and frustrated?

As per encarta dictionary, prostitution means, "somebody who uses a skill or ability in a way that is considered unworthy, usually for financial gain" Why blames females alone, that way there are many prostitutes in the system as corrupt Bureaucrats, politicians, which really do more damage to system

Personally I think prostitution is sad especially knowing that these woman are being dragged away from there families and brought to Europe for the sex market “Human trafficking”. In many European countries prostitution is illegal but no one does anything about it. If you want to read about it do a google search for “bragança prostitution”.

Do you think some woman dislike protitutes so much because they charge so little for sex, compared to the amount of money some wives and girlfriends leech out?
