    Navigation - Content - Navigation

    Content - Navigation - Navigation

    Navigation - Navigation - Content

What works best for you? Yesterday I had my layout set to navigation -
content - navigation and that got a pretty high CTR when I had a top
horizontal link unit under my header, an ad unit under my post titles, and then
an ad unit at the end of each article.

Today I am trying Content - Navigation - Navigation. Keeping everything the
same as before in terms of ad placement, but also adding in a skyscraper next
    to the content.

What works best for you guys?

Don't you think that it's gonna be a lot of ads?

Does this qualify as experimenting? :) Seriously, though, I don't consider one day to be long enough to do a real test of anything. I usually let things go at least a week so you can pick up each day's traffic. You also might get approval from Adsense and do some true A/B (or A/B/C) testing real-time. I've asked to do that in the past (showed them a dummy page with what I intended to do) and got almost immediate approval to proceed. I asked for approval since it requires changing the Adsense code.

I think there is not certain placement rules that are valid and effective for all sites.

Try to experiment with different patterns and stick on with the one that is more successful for you.
