white hat SEO-using ethical way of promoting site...] blackhat SEO- counterpart of whitehat SEO..such techniques they were using are: cloaking, hidden text, spamming, link farming etc.. to boost tons of traffic and at the same time to get their ranking higher in easier way...

Don't engage in black hat techniques like cloaking, doorway pages, invisible text etc. Best you should engage in white hat only. Otherwise, if you are really a master, you can do a lot of blackhat without getting caught at all. All the best.
White hat includes on-page optimization such as title tags, REAL keyword-rich content creation, and things along those lines. Black hat includes keyword stuffing, shady redirects, content scraping, etc.
Black hat seo is dangerous because google might do sumthin and sniff it and you might actually get ur site banned on google.
White hat is what Google will allow you to do, Black hat is what Google will not allow you to do. What's in between is creative gray had.
