I own a casino gambling site which is difficult to promote because the keywords (roulette, UK online casinos etc) are very popular and therefore expensive in Adwords etc I’ve noticed some You-tube videos showing in search result that are basically ads for competitor sites. My question is how can you use Youtube to promote your site? Has anyone tried, and is it effective?
I would create content (the video) that offers the viewer information. Roulette is tough, but a video on the top 10 UK online casinos or some other information product. The Secrets to..... or The Best Way to.... these type information videos are really good types of product to give. Don't make it look like a commercial. Subtle is best. It is very wise that you are looking into this type of marketing. Because the search engines are all excited about Youtube, they are putting those videos in the best position, at the top of the rank. The rest of us are clawing all over each other to get to the top. I use Youtube for my perfomance artist site, but I am going to have to review my other domains and see how I might create a video for them.
I promote my websites primarily through videos and video hosting sites like youtube. Click the "my youtube channel" link in my signature for examples of how I do this. The traffic is very targeted, more so then generic search traffic off of google. If someone finds my site from youtube, they are around 60% more likely to create an account then if they found my site off google. Traffic off of youtube is not instant, but it well worth investing into. Once you have your videos made, then you can start posting them to different sites such as dailymotion and yahoo video.
Kev, Thanks for the tip. I just checked out your channel. I have one as well, but I haven't really done much with it. Knowing that it's a big player for you though makes me take a serious look! Thanks.
A lot of people would prefer to watch a YouTube video than read information, such as a sales letter. Not everybody, but many.
Also if you have a youtube video it would get indexed high up on google so more people will see your video
Brilliant advice all. Now to put it work. I'm surprised that the SEO companies havent latched on to Youtube as a traffic generator yet - or perhaps they have?
People nowadays prefer to watch videos rather than to read. That's why when people searches and saw a video from the results, they tend to watch it. I am previously working as a link builder, and I did video submission for my client's video, I also posted a title, description ang keywords for the ,video (of course for the optimization). I created a video for him and started submitting it to my video sites lists. Including youtube, google, yahoo, aol, and many more. After a week the video viewed 30 times, imagine how many view would the video have after a month? a year?
Yes, this may be a good way to advertise. You can do a video tutorial and connect it whit an affiliate site. But it must be something the user wants to see, not just adverts.
That is a great service. I couldnt see whether it costs anything or not? But as a video distribution channel its just whats needed for someone creating content.
The theory of creating Youtube videos that would rank well is sound BUT if you are trying to compete for keywords like "roulette, UK online casinos etc" you're basically looking at making a video that will be as popular as your competitors sites, so it will have to be a pretty strong video.
Can you please explain first the content or description of the sites before giving any URL suggestion
