I am not a professional but I think someone needs a bit of luck to make good money selling domains.

To sell your names you really need at least one of two things:

    a) existing revenue being generated so that you can sell the domain on a multiplier basis
    b) some kind of generic value so people might buy the name based on its inherent value

Admittedly some luck can't hurt either:)

Sometimes I find it easier just to let them expire instead of spending too much time trying to sell them but I have had the odd lucky story like buying a .info for reg fee & someone buying it from me a few months later for $1000 on Sedo.

While that feeling is sometimes understandable, consider yourself lucky you're
able to get a few gentle souls to answer your question when they're not really
    obligated to.

    Good answer.
There is money to be made...as those making it can attest to.
If you are just getting started, it is best to spend some time doing research.
Learn the type of names to buy/register.
Learn about the legal aspect of "domaining".
Learn how to increase the value of a domain name while you hold it.
What names are worth holding on to.
Where to sell and how to go about it.
    etc.

Though experience is said to be the best teacher, it sometimes turns out to be the cruelest.

Yes, if you are smart about it. The more generic, the better. Don't think you can buy domains like AmazingComputerMonitors4u.com and think that it will sell like hotcakes.

yea thanks everyone. i spent like all night looking for good domains. I registered lost-links.com (lostlinks.com being certified premium) and already got an offer on sedo for it. it seems like simple domains sell the best, like spoon.com or tincan.com, which is pretty odd.

I would not say it is 'easy', but it is profitable if you get the right thing.

It is not 'easy' way to make a quick buck because to get a pretty penny for a domain you have to:

    -Have the domain brandable
    -What's in demand
    -Good extension

Etc, your best bet is to read up on a domain forum before trying to reg/buy to sell because based on those names you posted, they aren't valuable.

In domain lingo - these are what would be called 'generics'. And it's not odd at all. For instance, if you had mentioned SpoonS.com - that is a domain which people who are looking to perhaps buy spoons would go. Therefore, it is easily monetized.

'viralvaginas' (one of your purchased ones), on the other hand, does not have a clear route to monetization. Therefore, you would have to put a great deal of effort into creating a site, driving traffic to it, and ultimately branding the name in order to give it any significant value.

Is luck involved? Maybe. But less than you think. For every 1K that some lucky bastard gets for bbzz3burgers.net, you've got millions of other people sitting on 100x a better domain that may never get sold.

Bottom line - do your homework before spending too much and getting in over your head.

yea i got you there. im starting to understand now, i think its fun brokering domains. so your saying something simple like, "ceramicswan.com" is what people are looking for, simple stuff right.

how do you think these domains would do, "alert-line.com"

    or "fruitfarmz.com"??

These are only worth reg fee or less--my opinion. Ipod could be a TM problem and most domainers wouldn't touch it. Hyphons, .biz and z substitute for s domains are very poor in the marketplace. Porn names are only good if natural traffic or previous site, in other words, they have to be exceptional and even then they are soft and limited market in re-sales.

    Hope that helps.

If you want to sell them now you can sell them for about 15-25$ on ebay. However I would keep them till the price increases.

It can be, if you're willing to invest in literally hundreds of domains. If you're just starting out as a domainer, it's usually best to attempt to make a small profit on many cheaper domains, than higher valued domains.

The domain names you bought have no value. I don't think anybody will buy them. You can't just buy any domain and think that someone will buy. There are many things you must learn before you enter the market of buying and selling domains.

I will suggest you to make websites from the above domain names and then sell them. sitepoint.com is a great place to sell websites. Just go there and check out the websites that are being sold. :)

i dont know where does luck come in between of all this, if one have a good .com domain they would need no luck , just put it up for sale and it would be gone on no time
