Windows XP Professional Blackout

According to this article, those who are using an illegal copy of Windows XP Professional will notice a blackout.

    Any truth behind this?

I'm glad that I'm on a legitimate copy of Vista (although pirated Vista's won't be affected).

    Probably just scare-mongering.

Really can't abide Vista - long live Linux! ;)

They're doing this because they want people to use Vista?

Just a rumor, they need to cover up their looses and make people use vista. i am using an illagal copy of windows and no problems. However, when Windows 7 will be released i am thinking of buying a legit copy of that

It came with the laptop that I bought last week, so I have no problems using a Vista for that machine.

That's actually the first thing that acme to my mind. :p

This is not going to happen. To get the blackout you must have something installed for them to do this. Otherwise its not possible. Im sure that M$ did not code something like this in when it was created.

Yes, and they have tried before. But when M$ releases an update like this it is usually all over the internet within hours.
