    Hi,

Can anyone help me get my site listed in DMOZ. It's been 3 years since I submitted it for the first time to DMOZ editors and still nothing... :(

    Lol :)

I really don't know what is the problem here - my site is fully developed and very popular. And I followed DMOZ guidelines too... just don't understand what's the problem with it.

you should add several times - infact once every month..
whatever you site quality is, there is no surety of it being getting listed.

    rsuog,
If you submitted your site 3 years ago and have not re submitted it, I would go ahead and resubmit it once, only once. DMOZ had all the unreviewed sites cleared 2 years ago due to a crash. Submitting a site twice does not hurt you other than puting you lower on the list if the editor sorts by date. :)

you need to find an editor to pay for dmoz listing

    it will boost the speed.

    dmoz is a paid directory

Not true... its just the fact that its edited by humans and it depends whether the editor for your section is actually very active in reviewing the sites submitted and listing them. It took about 3 years to get my main site listed in DMOZ but I certainly didn't have to pay. No doubt people have tried bribery though.. but have no idea whether/if that works and would depend on the individual section editor.

The editors of DMOZ are really corrupt and lazy. It's especially TRUE for the Hungarian DMOZ directories :(

PM me if you're an editor that accepts bribes. LMAO!!! That would be nice! I think that those are just myths and would be too risky if you're caught.
I'd recommend submitting every year or longer.

You might be able to find a dmoz editor on the take at scriptlance. I've seen some offers posted there and positive feedback left after the fact - so it apparently works.

DMOZ could eliminate a lot of the confusion by sending out an E-mail once the site is reviewed.

Personally if I were you, I'd simply submit it and forget it. Who knows, maybe your category has no editors so any new editors will have to dig through 50,000 submissions just to get to yours.

    Good luck...

I don't see a DMOZ listing being that much of a benefit in the long run anyway. I've submitted, never been reviewed and forgotten about those losers. Better things to worry about and work on in my opinion.

Yes I am still sure after reading it.
Because SE's still like DMOZ linked sites and I think they will continue to rank them better at least for the next couple of years. They also like .edu linked sites.

    I don't agree with this:
"(at least Google doesn't guarantee high ranking after inclusion in DMOZ even though it encourages)"

No need for any guarantee. This is a reality.

Dmoz being so big they should know how to run the directory by now.

Knowing they are allowing sites only go through paid editors - it is a shame on them.
-- This is going on for too long.

Forget Dmoz - I submitted my sites few times and gaveup.

None of my sites has been accepted since almost 1 year.
If I remember, I still try to check my sites on every Wednesday if they have been included.
(DMOZ updates its search cache on Wednesdays)

By the way, I have a question. Will I receive an e-mail from DMOZ if one of my sites is accepted ?
