My page http://www.monetizationhub.com/zangocash-review/ ranks for http://www.google.com/search?q=zango+review. The meta description is "ZangoCash (Zango) offer a unique ..." but the SERP description is "Thank you for a great review about zango ..." which is a comment on the article. Is there any way to encourage Google to use the article itself as the description rather than the article comments?
As I know Google doesn't show description of page in SERP, but shows the short text extracted from page that most matches the recent search query. if your description most matches the search query, it should be shown.
How long was it? It's google fetching bot and algorithm did that. Try to update sitemap and information about your site on Google Webmaster, soon it will be changed.
Your meta description: ZangoCash (Zango) offer a unique gateway based method of monetizing your content. When you add a Zango gateway to your ... If you wish your meta description to be shown in a search for "zango review", you need to have this words in your meta description tag, otherwise Google will (try to) show a snippet of your text where both words are found. Your description tag has 122 caracters, also Google shows only 150 in the SERPs, best results are acheived with 200 caracters! (Better 198, than 201, they are able then to show snippets of your meta description if the search term "requires" so you should have a good thought about it.)
just add "review" in the meta description and the next time google indexs that page you may see the meta description for that search term. also it may help in your position.
