I checked your make money site. The red template... I gave it a try
and it wasn't so successful for me. It's good. You have another template

    Well ttomp13,

Do you actually get good traffic? I don't think you can make any money unless you have at least 100 visitors/day plus at least 100 subs.

150 to 200 + Unique views a day. Everyday. Consistently.
Most from Google. Some from Youtube.

Trust me. I have the traffic lol.

How much money should that give with a decent niche? (100 visitors/day plus at least 100 subs)

Try ProSense Blue - By DoshDosh.
Should get you a good CTR and try changing colors everyday to know which one works well.

The one I used is Harbor for Blogger and I am not sure If a similar is available for WordPRess.

    150-200 views/day is nothing.

You would have to get a Job.

I'll take a look at the one you're recommending me over at DoshDosh.
Also note: I have other sites that get a lot of views too.

If your CTR is 6%+ then its good.
Also you can use channels to track each ad block on your site.

I think CTR 5% is good to start with, you could increase it later on

My brother recently started an adsense account on his blog and his CTR hasn't been lower than 20% I still can't get it, cause he's never heard of SEO and stuff like that..

High CTR means more earnings comparitively to a lower CTR.

General questions... if you had a chance to remove low CTR channels to increase your overall CTR and those channels gets lots of traffic would you do so?

I am trying to figure out if I remove those ads and increase my overall CTR which will decrease my impressions a little, if this will result to higher earnings per clicks

As for now those channels that get about .50% with high impressions and gets the most earnings due to their high traffic

    Man your logic is wrong.
If you remove a low ctr channel then your overall ctr will also reduce.

    Couple things here...

In my experience your CTR depends on your niche more than anything.

I have had Myspace and arcade sites with terrible CTR's barely breaking 1-3%. I tried everything and nothing made a difference. And on top of that the CPM was also terrible.

Currently I run financial, weight loss, insurance and law sites with CTR's consistently in the 20-50% range. Most all traffic is organic and about 60% comes from Google and Yahoo. Not to mention the CPM is through the roof. I have had single clicks as high as $10.03. I consistently get $1-$3 clicks on several sites.

Also for ad placement why not do what Google suggests on their heatmap? I'm sure they might know the best place to put ads. I've include the link for those who don't have it.

Oh and for best results stay away from blogs altogether. Use CSS templates and .SHTML files to quickly add content to your sites. With includes you can change ad placement throughout your entire site with one file. You won't have to go in and change each page.

    Hope this helps someone ;)

Just wanted to let you know ur wrong.....

If you have 20 channels and 15 of them have 3% CTR and the other 5 have .30% if you remove those 5 below 1% your overall CTR will go up and not down. The only thing that will decrease will be your impressions

I think it's crazy to have double digit CTRs with millions of traffic to your sites on a monthly basis.

I even got 100% CTRs on badly visited sites, but in total I can't even get past 3% nowadays.

Gone were the days of 7%-10% CTR after adsense change the click area
