Hi, I thought id found a good designer for a wordpress theme I wanted. The designer I know was very good and is one of the top WP designers... But i think that the person I hired is not the one I thought he was. I think this person has bought the domain name and website and is now pretending to be the designer I am not sure what to do now. I have already sent the $300 cash for the design and what I got back is nothing to what I thought id get. Even when I was sent the design and i told him what I wanted and how to fix it I still got back a very basic design. Is there anything I can do? I do not want to give the website url out yet just incase... But i am just really **** off because $300 should have got me a good design. Any advice?
Yeah, it should have got an amazing design. This is a tough situation. I would first just express your displeasure with the product. I wouldn't do it rudly or you might find that this guy will just start ignoring you. However, if he responds but doesn't offer a refund, I would just ask for half of your money back so that you can try to go get someone else to do it. I would imagine you can find some very good designers here that would do a very good design for $150.00. I'm not sure how much work there is, but i've gotten some good designs for much less than even $150.00.
I dont really want to give the website or name out yet. I have given him around 4 weeks now as the first design he sent was very bad. I then made a quick ruff design of the type of thing i wanted and he sent back the same old design but just with a few mods on it. I keep giving him chances to fix the design but with the edits he keeps making I can tell he is not the designer i thought he was. If it does not plan out ill put his domain name up (A very well known Wordpress designer) and also warn others. The design im looking for has to be coded to work for wordpress which is why I thought 300 was worth it.
Tip of advice is this never pay full price always pay 50 % to start and 50 % when you are completely happy. Also note that if you pay full price you own the copyright of all tell him to send you all files from pds ens. Give it to a new designer Im sure he can change it quick in the way you want it. Yes, I agree now. I thought I could trust this person as from what I knew he was a very respected person. I was very very happy that he would even take my money at the time. I wish i did only send 50% now. Ill write up a email now and send him it. I thought with all the help and designs I sent him id get a good design to what I wanted.... Shame he is not the designer I thought he was. You would think if he is not the designer that is advertised he would state it. Thanks again,
yeah... thats painful situation... you only can try to get your money back or you can wait to get the 'professional design' u paid for... if he is not the right person and you cant get your money back, you can post here his nickname, paypal, website, name, etc... good luck man... p.s. if u need design services, i can help you, and that will cost you really less than $300
When I did hire this guy I never knew of this place. I only found this when I did not get what I was looking for and thought of looking for new designers who do not have much work. This place has really shaken me with how many are out there. I know this place will have its fair share of scammers and ripoffs but I am sure there are some gems to be found. It is not like I was even looking for a big design. I am only looking for a Personal Blog design with some custom work done... I even sent the guy a basic design I wanted him to work from... and got back something that looks like a few templates stuck together. What sort of prices do you think a wordpress custom theme should be? I would like to be able to work with the designer and throw some ideas of at him or her... I sort of suck at design so would like to be able to have a mix of what i want and have ideas from the designer.
Ok. I just got a reply from him and he said he would not give any refund. Ill await a reply from the email I just sent him and if he does not reply with any good anwer ill post all emails and work he did along with links and other info. Ill also ask PayPal on what i can do.
If he already said that he will not refund a single cent - request it by yourself ! But you need to do it fast - he can close his PP account and in that case .. no chances to get it back
The Designer I hired was: BlogOhBlog (www.blogohblog.com) Name: Jai Nischal Verma He is NOT the original creator of the designs he has. I think he must have got when the original sold it or something. I think he was also given some designs that he has slowly put out.... Or hired the original creator. Anyway. I opened a PayPal claim and I am not sure how they work but he replied and asked for it to be closed and PayPal has... not sure why? He is now sending abusive emails back to me gloating about him winning this. I am not sure what else to do now. I will reopen the paypal claim but am not sure what else to do. Any help would be great.
Man you had to check everything before paying him.. you could tell him when he complete the design & show you, if you like the design you will pay him...
Hummm.... I guess its my own fault then I did try with PayPal but they closed it. It tells me to try to work it out with the person... which I have. Do you know how to reopen it with them?
