Evaluating load speed of server

    Greetings!

When i load my own website, it's sometimes really slow, or it doesn't load all the graphics.

I'd like to know if it's because of the server at my web host, or if it's because of my own connection (since I'm in Mexico, and the web host is in Georgia or something like that).

    Anybody have any ideas?

    Many thanks!

Put up a file that a few megabytes and see if its slow to download.
Also, try pinging the server to see if theres any packetloss.

Are you running a dynamic web site (php/mysql, etc)?

I haven't noticed any real difference in downloading big files from my server versus other sites.

    Never noticed that either

No, the main site uses just a touch of php, but it's not dynamic. Actually, though, we have a Wordpress blog in a subdirectory, and if anything it seems to have less problems, probably because it has less graphics.

    Hi,

Try a traceroute and also try some proxy sites like proxify which would show you the time taken to download the site from various parts of the world.
