For hosting sites its of the utmost importance to have high page rank. That helps rank higher than the tons of competitors. I'd recommend buying paid links on high PR directories and buying bulk social bookmarking for more search engine results since you only have 157 pages indexed by Google.

I think that the best way to go would be to market your blog with the keywords in your domain. Instead of using the anchor text "Free Software Downloads," you should use "Free Software Workshop." This will make it easier for you to be #1 on Google for those three keywords. You should use that as the site title for directory submissions and social bookmarking as well. You need a lot of social bookmarking, it will help you pick up a lot of search engine traffic and help you get more pages indexed by Google.
