I am sorry but I am getting sick of the same old topics... If I see one one list of top 10 seo techniques, top 10 ways to get banned from google, top 10 ways for link building, top 10 ways to punch yourself in the face...Its all the same rehased bs from 1999. (Believe me im not knocking DP its some of the people on it) There needs to be a section for advanced convo for people looking to share advanced, new ideas and concepts. Don't get me wrong I was a newbie in 2000 and had all these same questions but I also had the infinite wisdom to research answers on here and other sites before I made a dork of myself and just ask the most basic and mind numbing questions like...."how to I make a meta tag" or "how many backlinks equal a pr 7"..... Im sorry im ranting here but I just want to see something with more substance.
If there are new things about link building, web development, web marketing search engine optimization, etc... I thinks you better start new thread.
you just can't get away from it no matter what you do... It's like the why was I banned from adsense threads with people having wares and porn sites... Oh well!!! If it's an original thread I'm for it but a lot of the tips are just copy pasted from other seo sites.
It is like TV ads. You need to see it at least 7 times to remember all those stuff. And what a newbie is supposed to do? It is for their benefits also.
Sometimes people don't go looking for answers and just type anyway. It's not really hard and some questions already been asked before.
Most of the time, they never bother to check through the database. Countless times, I've come across same questions being asked again and again even in the space of a day. Can't blame them though especially if the person are newcomers.
I guess the whole point of DP is that it's a forum where people can ask questions - newbies as well as more experienced people. You can't stop people asking questions so don't click on uninteresting thread. What surprises me is the percentage of people who don't seem to read the opening post in a thread.
Pal, as new people come they will have same questions as you had few years ago. Nobody searches for previous threads. New and fresh top 10 list of tips always helps
People asking the same old questions doesn't annoy me half as much as the threads that consist only of a C&P of an ezine article from 2002 followed by a load of "this is grate tip 4 noobee" replies from people who clearly haven't read more than 3 words of it :-( When someone asks a question answer it, but it does clog up the board when people start new threads saying things that have been posted 100 times before when nobody has even asked!
Well, I think the only solution is to start up (or join) another community. Lots of people are having the same thoughts as you (me for instance).
