Starting a New Business

I have a business idea. I will give a brief idea briefing, but don't want to give too much away because it isn't created.

Ok I am planning a sort of Video Contest, there will be a major prize at the end. But I am going to need to host around 200K videos each that are around 30 seconds each.

    My questions are:
    1) I know YouTube, doesn't allow people who are profiting to advertise their videos and I am sure other companies have similar rules, so I will have to contact them to be able to host with them, but IF they don't allow it, how will I be able to host?

    2) Question 1 leads to this. IF I were to host myself how much bandwidth/storage space does a 30 second video have? How would I go about buying all that bandwidth and stuff? Would it be a good investment, or is there somewhere else I can host videos without any legal troubles? <-- WOULD A PLACE LIKE MEDIAFIRE WORK??

    3) How should I collect money? Googlecheckout and I am planning another one for international people, I don't want paypal to hold my money, I have no faith in them, so I won't use them.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks!

    1) There are many others video hosting like veoh, etc. If they dun allow either, why don't you start your own?

    2) around 2 to 10 mb depending on the video quality. I think it's better to buy a dedicated server.

    3) google checkout is a nice choice, egold. In my opinion paypal is good.

** Well, you will be best off to start your own video hosting site and put it there, or just put it on YouTube and other places and see if they remove it or not.

    2) Question 1 leads to this. IF I were to host myself how much bandwidth/storage space does a 30 second video have? How would I go about buying all that bandwidth and stuff? ** You can host your video on megavideo.com, mediafire would work too but you dont play videos there, it just hosts files, so not a good idea. Bandwidth and space come with hosting when you buy hosting check for the specifications of the hosting provider that your buying from.

** Well, AlertPay is pretty common due to PTC sites, and MoneyBookers also, so go with them, use PayPal as well, but to only hold money from payers who dont have anything else. Or if your serious about the business your starting then start your own payment processor as well.

    1st questions for SlayDragon:
Where would I go about getting a dedicated server for around 200K, 30 second videos. I calculated space: Roughly 1.5 terabytes, and with hits I am assuming that could easily be 2K-10K terabytes of bandwidth.

Paypal I don't want because I plan on having a lot of money being transfered if idea works and if they freeze my account I will be screwed over, and their representation listens to nobody.

    2nd questions for SEO:
How would I go about starting my own payment processor and what kind of cost would that be? Do you mean just process for myself or become like a paypal business like thing?

    Thanks guys!

Use Amazon's cloud computing to test the market and Google checkout if you don't like PayPal.
