Can you Stumble your own sites?

I've read conflicting views on this one: some say that you will get banned from stumbleupon for stumbling your own sites, others says that they do it all the time...

Does anyone have any proof either way? Of course stumbleupon's help files does say "dont stumble your own sites", so for now I am not. But, I'm just too addicted to stumble traffic! ;)

I know that I physically can :) But just wondering what the risk is. Probably 0% risk if you only stumble 1 page of your site. How many pages can you stumble before the risk gets too high? :) All pages is probably a 100% risk ... especially when you have a couple of thousand pages ;)

I don't get why there would be any risk in stumbling your own websites. I mean how would stumblupon actually know if you were stumbling your own website or not?

The risks are getting your account banned (no prob, just create another), or getting your site banned - big problem, I really want that stumble traffic! :)

Stumble traffic is useless in my opinion. They hit your site... then stumble a new page. Visits lasting less then a second.

Stumbleupon will prevent you from continually stumbling from the same site ... you will not be able to submit any more pages from the same site. Plus stumble traffic in my opinion has very poor conversion rates.

Stumble is overrated. The only thing it is good for is a spike in traffic. Other than that it is useless. I would spend more time submitting to do-follow social bookmarking websites that are running the scuttle script

http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=991888 Look at the first 5 social bookmarking websites. I love scuttle script

stumleupon is a good source of traffic but only few and it might harm your site especially when it is not related to yours.

You can stumble a few pages safely, but don't stumble more than 2-3 in a day.

If you are sceptical about it, you can always ask friends to do it for you.

I have 100+ of webmasters on my messenger. Whenever I feel I have a page that can get good traffic from SU, I ask a couple of them to stumble it.

stumbleupon seems to give you boosted traffic temporarily, then sinks your heart when you realize it was artificial
