same here.... i am also confused by this.... but i think he is starting new site where he want to accept paypal.... and for rajaram to learn more about paypal the best place is www.PayPal.com and on there help section where you can find all the answers you been looking for.... that is what i did when i first started... the only question i asked about paypal on this forum is how long it take to get paypal checks.... but rest i have read by myself on paypal help section.... and always try to dig the site first for your answers and then ask others....
in brief it is payment provider which you can use to accept payments when selling your goods or services on-line. It provides different way of integration and services, like recurring payments, shopping cards for those who needs more than that they provide more complicated API. From my experience even though PayPal is globally recognized payment service a lot of people don't like to use this payment method especially Europeans cause it has some drawbacks like in case your credit card invalidates after some time it automatically cancels all the subscription, the same is related to the case when user wants to change his credit card details, so what I'm suggesting is to provide also other payment provider together with PayPal, although for the beginning it will be fine to start with PayPal.
