does link exchange add PR

if two sites with same PR exchange links. Do the links cancel each other or do they both get extra link juice.

If it's a reciprocal link (ie site A links to site B, Site B links back to Site A) the value of the link will probably be lessened. This is why you see many 3 way link exchanges occurring (site A links to site B, site B links to site C, site C links to site A).

 

The value will be less than if you had a 1 way link but you will still get the backlink

 

I've heard some people were disappointed with these types of link campaigns. Do you know why?

 

Best: One way thematic incoming link.
Good: One way non-thematic incoming link.
OK: Reciprocal link.
Bad: Link exchanges.

 

i notice that people suggest thematic linkage. does that mean links from same niche?

does the google PR algorithim calculate niche? how is niche calculated?

i imagine that would be difficult to implement.

 

Google doesn't calculate niche necessarily; but based on keyword usage they can tell if 2 sites share similar keywords, hence the assumption that they are relevant sites.

 

Link exchanges are bad i've heard. I say away from them unless it's a very good site relevant to mine.

 

You will receive some link juice if you exchange links with a site but you will not receive
as much link juice as you would get from a one way link.

ellion: It is extremely difficult to get thematic one-way link from websites with high PR. If I have a high PR website, I don't think I will link to website(s) with similar contents.

 

I agree with in that kind of idea one way link like doing 3 way I still do link exchange for the purpose of finding quality link like mine.

 

well... Personally, I don't prefer Reciprocal link exchanges... My suggestion to you is...try to get as many incoming links as you can.That's far better than those RLE's.

 

I suggest that we should follow 3way as in 2 way, both sites can make an agreement and thus can get listed in SERP whereas in 3 way there will be also an agreement but all the links are treated as an inbound one. So 3 way link exchange is more beneficial.

I think 1 way and 4 way linking is the best

2 way is bad
3 way can be detected
but 4+ is just normal

Link exchanges are nowhere near as good as a one way link. They'll still have some value though.

 

i prefer 3 way link exchange than one way link exchange ..

 

If you exchange the link with more than your website pr then it would be defenitely pass some PR juice to your website.
