Wake up and smell the adware. Did you actually read any of the stories about Zango which were posted above? It seems you are the one lacking knowledge.

IF I TALK IN CAPS DOES IT MAKE ME SEEM SMARTER?

No? Cause that strategy isn't working for you either.

    - Ringtones: selling a product to a 14 year old girl who thinks they cost 1.99 and ends up getting billed 40 bucks for 6 months
    - Zango: installing adware that only works for ie and is easy to uninstall

    hmm...

To all the Zango hatters, if you can make 5-7k a month "ETHICALLY" and only in the business for couple of months, then let me know. If not, then get some recent proof about how bad zango is then talk. If you dont have any recent proof, then please leave this thread and go do something better.

TALKING IN ALL CAPS IS SO MUCH FUN!

FROM A BUSINESS PERSPECTIVE, IT MAKES SENSE FOR ZANGO TO MAKE THEIR ADWARE AS DIFFICULT AS POSSIBLE TO UNINSTALL. IF EVERYONE UNINSTALLED IT EASILY AND QUICKLY THEY WOULD NOT MAKE ANY MONEY.

And as for ringtones, I clearly advertise the costs to the user associated with joining. Period. But this thread isn't titled "About Ringtones Everyone Post Opinions Here"...

    LOL.

Once again, please read the articles above. Seems like you guys are the ignorant ones: "oh, I'm not doing anything wrong, Zango is a wonderful company which gives teddy bears and candy to sick children"

    Fact:
    *Zango.com Won SEOmoz 2008 Web 2.0 Award

*Earlier this month, Zango was nominated for The Industry Standard Innovation 100 Awards, a community-driven awards program that showcases the top 100 innovators across 10 categories.

*Congratulations to Zango’s 225 employees in six offices in four countries around the world. For the fifth consecutive year, Washington CEO magazine has recognized Zango as one of Washington State’s Best Companies to Work For.

*Zango employees raised more than $5,000 for the American Red Cross Serving King & Kitsap Counties. Zango employees participated in the Professionals in Action (PiA), a group that provides service and volunteer opportunities specifically geared toward today's active young professionals' lifestyles.

*Zango employees donated more than 1,400 pounds of non-perishable food items as part of a Holiday food drive supporting Northwest Harvest. Also, during the holiday season, Zango sponsored five families through Youth Eastside Services. Each family consisted of 3-to-5 individuals and Zango employees provided at least three gifts to each person. These efforts hopefully brought a little cheer to those less during the holidays.

*Zango employees donated more than 800 pounds of clothing to Northwest Center. The clothing drive enables Northwest Center to continue its mission of promoting the growth, development and independence of people with disabilities through programs of education, rehabilitation and work opportunity.

*A team of Zango employees restored dunes and cleaned beach and wetland areas of Golden Gardens Park in Seattle. They also raised more than $1,000 for the cause.

I would say that's a bit more then just candy and teddy bears

    @1368633: interesting facts ;)

Zango is the cleanest and most legal Pay per install company. They have strict rules for webmasters, and damn they have a guide to uninstall their software :p This program is interesting and I will give it a shot in the future :]

Zango had to fire 68 employees, because they're stealing content and engaging in unethical business practices so they're repeatedly getting fined by the government. Any blind sheep who fails to see that is so dumb, there's no reason to even try to show you the door, you'd still couldn't walk though it unattended.

Link? Or did you make that up also

Im guessing you read there ceo blog, it said

If you’ve followed Zango at all you know that we have our fair share of detractors, people who love to hate us. There are a couple reasons why. First, they don’t like how we use Web publishers to distribute Zango – they think that it is possible for some of these partners to game our system and to not provide the consumer with a consistent experience when installing our software. That may have happened in the past, but since 2005 we’ve invested millions of dollars in technology development and have added a full staff of compliance experts to ensure this isn’t the case anymore. But while the facts have changed, the arguments from our detractors have not (in fact, some continue to tell only parts of the story – see “Close Butt… Not Quite” on the Zango corporate blog). Their second point is that they think we steal affiliate advertising commissions by using our Targeted Visitor ad format. I can state emphatically that we don’t, but the reality is that a few affiliates have tried to break our rules strictly prohibiting this behavior by attempting to use our automated advertising system to stomp on affiliate cookies. We police this activity aggressively through policies and technology and frankly it is a miniscule problem that always gets detected and corrected, but it does provide for some good fear mongering and headlines. In any case, the noise around these two points has been a drag on our business and has kept us from the growth that we should be experiencing.

To sum it up it said there not doing as good as they should be, due to ignorance
